Renewable Energy For Mobile Phones

All mobile telephony stations from developing countries could switch to renewable energy supply, according to a plan of the GSM Association (GSMA). Investments could be recovered in two years.
GSMA, the representative of approximately 750 mobile operators, has launched the "Green Energy for Mobiles" this month and follows that till 2012 to obtain it's application in 118. 000 base stations for transmitting and receiving calls. Switching to solar energy, wind or other renewable energies would save approximately 2 billion and a half liters of fuel per year, used for power stations.
GSMA has discover from it's research that the world exist about 1,500 stations that use renewable energy, but companies are not extend more because of its high cost and lack of equipments.
25 telephony operators are part from the "Green Energy for Mobile" scheme and the GSMA is working already to the development of alternative energy systems with Digicel, Idea Cellular and Safaricom.
