Google, which is probably the most popular search engine on the Internet, wants to green its data centers, informs Greener Computing.
The company intends to place platforms on the ocean on which to put data centers that will be powered by wave. Floating platforms would allow to the new data centers to be constructed quickly and to move easily in locations where users have great need of Internet and fast services.
"Such a proje would be quitcte expensive to enforce, and the access to electricity would not always be easily to found and a process of water cooling for these data centres would be quite difficult," said Google officials. "But these are systems and methods that can be applied and which can provide to the data centers speed and flexibility in operation services"
