Tesla Will Produce 15,000 Electric Cars Per Year

The electric sports car maker, Tesla Motors, built a auto factory of 250 million dollars in Silicon Valley, California, to produce sedan models that will go out on the United States market at the end of 2010.

The Tesla Roadster car has attracted some attention and is already considered a must-have which established trends in the green cars field.

The mayor from San Jose, Chuck Reed, said that Silicon Valley, the site of the new automobile factories Tesla, has a great potential in regards the clean technology, especially solar one.

The Executive Director of Tesla, Ze'ev Drori, said that the company's goal is to manufacture the Model S of the sedan, worth 60,000 dollars at a rate of 15,000 models per year until the end of 2011.

Other auto manufacturers are working on vehicles with zero emissions, and big companies like General Motors and Toyota Motor are in competition to build electric cars that operate solely on batteries.
