British government plans to invest nearly 150 million pounds sterling in programs to increase the manufacturing industry, including helping low-emission vehicles and renewable and nuclear energies.

Great Britain, which is the sixth world producer, owns a sector of eco goods and services with annual revenue of 25 billion pounds sterling. The government estimates that it could reach 45 billion pounds sterling until 2015, which would create 1 million green jobs until 2030.

Government intends to establish next year a strategy for the manufacturing sector with low levels of carbon, which will focus initially on energy and cars. The British executive will put aside 20 million pounds sterling for the government fleet of cars with low emissions.

The strategy also includes assistance for renewables and nuclear energy. Through the Office for Nuclear Energies Development and the Office for Renewable Energies Development the government wants to help the industry to overcome barriers in the creation, assembly, installation, operation and maintenance of energy systems to expand the use of renewable and nuclear energies. The government estimates that the renewables sector and nuclear energy will lead to the creation of 260,000 jobs in the next decade.

Other green aspects of the strategy concerning the manufacturing sector include supporting the technology development and a pilot program for electric cars.
